The new trend in bathroom design is the designer fixtures. Were not talking about the over priced, retro looking fixtures that you buy at super stores like Home Depot and Lowe's. These RTA vanities are easy to assemble, look good, and are about thirty five percent lower than retail. Just make sure that you are not buying particle board RTA products. IKEA is laden with this type of junk. Yes it is junk, because particle board soaks up moisture and a bathroom is loaded with moisture. So look for RTA products that have paneled wood sides and no particle board. (Also keep this in mind when your buying kitchen cabinets- RTA cabinets that are made of paneled wood are far superior to particle board).

Second if you want something a little more special, look for the higher quality vanities. These will be pre-assembled, hand painted, solid construction, and a marble or granite top. Few companies are carrying these products but a search of high end vanities could produce some good leads. These bathroom vanities are a little more expensive but you will see where your dollar is going the minute you feel these products.
