The new trend in bathroom design is the designer fixtures. High end bathroom vanities can set apart your bathroom from any others that you have seen.

The new trend in bathroom design is the designer fixtures. Were not talking about the over priced, retro looking fixtures that you buy at super stores like Home Depot and Lowe's. Instead we are talking about high end bathroom vanities that set apart your bathroom from any others that you have seen.

For years, the super mega stores (IKEA, Lowe's, and Home Depot) have been producing or importing new looking, smart designed bathroom products. These items range from small light fixtures to high end toilets and bathroom vanities. The stuff is extremely over priced and of average quality. Unfortunately, the consumer walks into the mega store, sees the "shiny" display and pictures that display as their new bathroom. It happens but, at what price and how much quality will be sacrificed? Also, keep in mind that these new bathroom items are not unique. Every other super hardware store like Home Depot is carrying the same thing. Why do you think they have so many and offer a "discount" price? Because they bought in bulk from their supplier and now your new bathroom vanity is also in thirty thousand other houses, including your neighbor down the street.

So what is the answer to a unique bathroom vanity or fixture at a good price and it would be nice to have quality as well. The answer is to go online and find bathroom vanities and other fixtures at a great price and even a better variety.

First the price, If you want to get a great price and decent quality, turn to RTA style vanities. RTA stands for ready to assemble. These RTA vanities are easy to assemble, look good, and are about thirty five percent lower than retail. Just make sure that you are not buying particle board RTA products. IKEA is laden with this type of junk. Yes it is junk, because particle board soaks up moisture and a bathroom is loaded with moisture. So look for RTA products that have paneled wood sides and no particle board. (Also keep this in mind when your buying kitchen cabinets- RTA cabinets that are made of paneled wood are far superior to particle board).

Second if you want something a little more special, look for the higher quality vanities. These will be pre-assembled, hand painted, solid construction, and a marble or granite top. Few companies are carrying these products but a search of high end vanities could produce some good leads. These bathroom vanities are a little more expensive but you will see where your dollar is going the minute you feel these products.

In conclusion, staying away from the retail stores is your best bet. Everyone is accustomed to going to the mega stores for all of your needs. It is not anyone's fault; it is engrained in our heads. What you can do is start looking online and finding great deals that will save you money and give you a much better product. Remember, make sure it is a quality website and that your transaction is secured, other than that, start shopping online.
