With most homes being mass produced, most bathrooms are boring and plain. Selecting the right bathroom vanity can really make your bathroom stand out, especially if you are planning on selling your house in the near future.

In today's world of cookie cutter homes, and mass produced materials, it is rare that you are impressed by the looks of a bathroom. What you will find in most houses are stock vanities that were bought at Home Depot or Lowes, usually a builders grade oak, and they are usually built out of cheap particle board or flake board. Even though the bathroom will give you the second highest return on investment of any room in the house, most people just buy the cheapest materials they can to fill the space. By putting a little bit of effort and creativity into your bathroom, you can really make it an asset to your house.

With today's housing market, you really need every advantage that you can get, if you are planning on selling your house. Why not turn your bathroom into a memorable room of your house, or use it to separate your house from the rest of the same exact houses on your block? By choosing the right materials, you can really make your house stand out from the rest.

The two most noticable materials in the bathroom are the bathroom vanity and the flooring materials (usually tile). By creating a design theme for your bathroom, just changing these two materials can have a dramatic effect. If you search the online stores, you can find a wide range of bathroom vanities that cover every style- from old world to ultra modern. By choosing the right vanity, it is easy to build a color palette and design pattern around it. Going with ultra modern? Maybe some glass tile would look best with that new vanity? Going for the old world look? How about about some tumbled stone tiles? The possibilities are endless.

So if you are looking for a way to make your house stand out in a crowded housing market, or you just want to create a little escape from the stress of everyday life, it is time to start looking at a bathroom remodel. Start with the vanity, and build your design around it. By creating a focal point and coordinating the rest of the room around it, you will be able to create a stylish bathroom that incorporates your own personal tastes.
